Search Queries
A query entered in a search tool is sent to the outside provider that operates that tool. The provider processes the name or location and supplies its result. Jim Wells County Criminal History does not keep a separate log of those query terms.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email sent to us may be retained long enough to respond and manage the exchange. It is not shared outside the organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
Servers and analytics tools can receive routine technical details when a page loads:

Jim Wells County Criminal History does not maintain or sell a database of personal criminal records. It publishes general access information for records held by the Jim Wells County Sheriff, court clerks, Texas Department of Public Safety, and Texas Public Sex Offender Registry. Visitor data is not compiled into third-party criminal files or consumer reports. The site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies power the search boxes. Information placed in one of those tools is governed by that provider's privacy policy, retention choices, and sharing practices. Review those terms before sending a query because this policy does not control the provider.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to Jim Wells County offices, Texas agencies, court portals, or outside search tools. Once a visitor follows an external link, that destination's privacy terms apply. Read them before supplying personal information.
Advertising providers may use their own systems to measure activity across sites. That processing is outside our direct control.

The Texas Public Information Act, Government Code Chapter 552, applies to government records, while Government Code Sections 411.083, 411.085, and 411.135 govern criminal-history dissemination. Those public-record laws do not turn this private site into a government custodian. Subject to applicable law, a visitor may:

- Ask that inaccurate personal data be corrected
- Seek deletion when the law permits it
- Object to certain forms of processing
